Effect of 2-D nanomaterials on sensitivity of plasmonic biosensor for efficient urine glucose detection

This paper presents a multi-layered Kretschmann configuration-based Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR) biosensor for the detection of urine glucose. The modelling, simulation, and analysis have been done by using Silver (Ag) Gold (Au) layer on low refractive index prism BK-7 separately, which created two structures: structure-I (BK7/Ag/Bio-sample) structure-II (BK7/Au/Bio-sample). Urine samples from non-diabetic person (0–15 mg/dL) diabetic (.625 gm/dL, 1.25 2.5 5 10 gm/dL) with corresponding indices 1.335, 1.336, 1.337, 1.338, 1.341, 1.347, respectively, used as bio-sample that has put top sensor. An investigation was conducted to improve performance parameters proposed plasmonic layering different 2-D nanomaterials (graphene, BP) TMDC materials (MoS 2 , MoSe WS WSe ) over silicon (Si) in both structures at visible wavelength 633 nm, Transfer Matrix Method (TMM). With thickness optimization, Structure-I (BK7/Ag (56 nm/Si (3 nm)/WS2 (.8 nm)/Bio-sample) shows sensitivity 200 °/RIU is enhanced up 1.7 times conventional 1.3 BK7/Ag nm)/Si nm)/Bio-sample based biosensor. Whereas Structure-II (BK7/Au (50 nm)/BP (.53 optimised thickness, we obtained 273.4°/RIU, 2.2 (BK7/Au/Bio-sample) BK7/Au nm)/Bio-sample. Other such accuracy are .5617 degree −1 .134 respectively.
